Who did you vote for in the election of Australia’s next Governor-General?

This video looks at the selection and appointment of the Australian Governor-General and the disconnection between the government contemplated under the current Australian Constitution and the actual practices of the Australian government.

Time to talk about a new Australian Constitution

Time to talk about a new Australian Constitution

This video looks at our Constitution as the contract between Australians and their elected government, which sets out our rights and responsibilities as a nation. It questions if it is right that a single person has the final say under our Constitution and that person is not Australian, was not elected by our citizens, does not live in Australia and has no checks and balances over their ultimate power over Australian citizens.

The proposed Constitutional wording is the problem

The proposed Constitutional wording is the problem

The proposed Referendum for an indigenous voice to parliament (the Voice) is a valid and important question to ask the Australian people but it is let down by the proposed wording of the accompanying change to the Constitution. The proposed change is too brief to properly define the Voice and provides almost no guidance to the parliament and the courts. Worst of all, it puts all of the powers for defining the Voice in the hands of the parliament.

This video explains why we are chasing your support for a petition to delay the referendum for an Indigenous Voice to Parliament (the Voice) until the proposed constitutional amendment is better defined. We believe that proper constitutional definition of the Voice is superior to the current proposal to simply give all powers on the matter to the Parliament.
